Quegthos, God of Filth and Disease
God of Filth and Disease, Quegthos is a malevolent deity worshipped by those who seek to spread suffering and misery throughout the world. He is known for his neutral evil alignment, as he is willing to do whatever it takes to further his own goals, regardless of the cost to others.
In terms of his personality, Quegthos is cruel and heartless, relishing in the misery of others. He takes pleasure in spreading disease and filth wherever he goes, and he is known to delight in the suffering of those around him. He is also highly deceitful, using lies and manipulation to get what he wants.
Physically, Quegthos is a repugnant figure, covered head to toe in black tar that seems to ooze and seep from his very pores. He is tall and gaunt, with long, spindly fingers and a twisted, demonic face. His appearance is said to be the result of a curse placed upon him by the other gods, who were outraged at his deceitful ways and punished him by transforming him into this foul and repulsive form.
Unlike other deities, Quegthos has no temples or places of worship. Those who follow him do so in secret, conducting their rituals and offerings in hidden, shadowy locations. This only serves to add to his reputation as a shadowy and mysterious figure, feared and reviled by many.
One of the most well-known legends surrounding Quegthos is that he is the father of Sonatyre, the Goddess of Dreams. According to the legend, Quegthos lied to Ky'Luna, the Goddess of the Moon, about who he was in order to sleep with her. Pretending to be Typhenus, God of the Sun, he seduced the Queen of the Night, and as a result, Sonatyre was born. However, Ky'Luna was outraged at Quegthos's deception and refused to allow him to see his daughter. In his anger and spite, Quegthos is said to have created the first werewolves as a way to mock Ky'Luna’s control of the full moon, and get back at her for denying him access to his daughter.
