The Iron Empire
The Iron Empire was founded several centuries ago by a powerful warlord who unified the warring states of the region through a combination of military might and strategic alliances. The discovery of Iron, and its anti-magical properties, allowed them to smash through local shamanic leadership, which had previously ruled the differing areas with ancient natural magics and rituals. Over time, the empire expanded its borders through conquest and diplomacy, bringing numerous territories under its control.
The Iron Empire's expansion has been marked by a series of military campaigns and annexations. Notable conquests include the regions of Agrium and Hectaria, which were integrated into the empire after decisive victories. After reaching the end of the continent, the Iron Empire has set its sights across the sea, attempting to expand into the Kingdom of Azir, conquering the peninsula known as Esmana, the “Land of Magic”.
While the Iron Empire has a strong military tradition, it also places a high value on cultural assimilation. Conquered regions are encouraged to adopt Imperial customs and laws, although local traditions are often preserved to maintain stability and loyalty. The current ruler
The Iron Empire is governed by Emperor Tomir Aumn, who presides over the empire from the capital city of Hadria. The Emperor is supported by a human senate, which consists of representatives from various regions within the empire. This senate advises the Emperor and helps to administer the vast territories under Imperial control.
Players who choose to have their character hail from the Iron Empire can draw from a rich history of military conquest and cultural integration. Characters may come from any of the provinces within the empire, each with its unique customs and traditions.
